I know there’s a movie titled “The walking dead”, no, I haven’t watched it. But what comes to your mind when you think of dead men walking? I think of zombies! You know those guys right? they tend feature alot in horror movies and fantasies.
You know the problem I’m having with this post right here is this, days ago, I put down this title ‘walking dead’ in writing, my intention was to write a post on it when I got the time, unfortunately for me, i didn’t put down anything more on what was going through my head and because my short term memory is ‘short’, i have exceeded it’s capacity, so in other words i have forgotten the reason why i wrote this title down. So right now i’m just free-styling with the hope that along the way the original motivation would find its way into this write up and that you would get the message. So lets journey together 😊
The first thing that strikes me is the irony of the title, to be dead means that all signs of ‘life’ are absent (that includes walking), so to have a walking dead person is just irksome! I remember dealing with cadavers and imagining what my reaction would be were they to wake up. I know most people would either collapse on the spot or learn to sprint immediately😊, in which category do you fall? And don’t ask me, I’m the one writing this blog, i have the autonomy of asking questions😆.
Even though i know seeing a dead man walking around is something that would most likely have us shaking in our shoes. Its funny that we have dead men walking all around us everyday and we even interact with them without a pinch of fear. Or you didn’t know that you’ve been talking to dead people? Or maybe you are even dead but do not know it yet 😲, now that’s a scary thought.
So I’m not trying to be mystical, let me explain. If you read the last blogpost, (if you didn’t find it here Did God lie?) I
spoke wrote about how God said Man would die if they ate of the fruit he asked them not to eat of, but how they ate the fruit and didn’t die because God didn’t mean die physically but death in the true sense, and death in the true sense is to be separated from God (hope I’ve been able to bring you up to pace). So i speak write in the same vein.
There are many people walking around who don’t have God in their lives, such people are walking dead. They live, they move, they breath but they have no LIFE in their spirit. Jesus said;
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John14:6 (emphasis added by me)
Just the way it would be quite distressing to have physically dead men walking around, it’s same to have spiritually dead men walking around, while those that are alive just look on without sharing life with them. Moreso, we should be distressed if we know that we are DEAD.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Life in it’s true sense is found in Jesus.
Have your vital signs checked, are you walking dead?
